IDENTITY

 Out of the amazing gifts my husband and I got for our wedding, we received this beautiful air fryer. We never really had one so we watched YouTube videos about the product and how to use it as well as following through the manual. Yeah it really helped. Being married to a man that loves fried yam, that was the first delicacy we tried with the air fryer. It worked!!

Do you agree with me that the only thing that falls from the sky is rain and snow? No human or product  fell from the sky, they are all carefully designed by the producer. 

When the purpose of a thing isn’t known, abuse is definitely inevitable. You are not an exception. Have you ever noticed? At certain points of our lives, it gets confusing. You suddenly do not know what to do with your life, and the pressure gets worse when we see our peers thriving but here we are completely lost. I’d like to congratulate you because God has given me a solution for you.

In the book of Jeremiah, God told Him, before I formed thee in your mother’s belly, I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

This gives us a clear picture that nobody, including you, was born into the earth by Mistake. The reason why we often struggle with identity crises is because we have left our source and so we are losing our balance like a fish taken out of the water. 

This is what the devil does, he always tries to make us question our identity and make us struggle with our identity in Christ. You know, he did it to Eve, telling her to eat the apple so she can come to her full potentials (being like God) and she was deceived. So she fell. Are you falling too? 

You know, he tried to use the same trick for Jesus when he said “if you are the son of God who you claim to be, turn this stone to bread.” However, Jesus didn’t need to prove anything to the enemy. Instead he rebuked him with the knowledge of His identity in the Father. “Man shall not live by bread alone but by the words of the father!!” Meaning everyday, like the fish is dependent on water for breath, we should Cling to the Trinity in whom lies our identity. 

There is a reason why He’s  called the author and finisher of our faith. He has carefully scripted your life into beautiful lines of chapters. All you need do is align. The Samaritan woman was “identity-less” until Jesus met her, told her about her past and called her into His bosom. Jesus precisely said He is the fountain and she should come drink from him. What an honor!

Like you, I met myself on the earth and was introduced to my family. In that light I was formed and expected to behave in a certain way, I was taught my name and certain principles of life. I grew with my peers and strived to make mama proud. But in the midst of these all there’s one budding question in my heart. Just like you often question yourself too. 

Who am I? What exactly is my purpose? What gap have I come to fill? What is my identity?! 

Jesus has answered your question in John 15:16

“You didn't choose me, remember; I chose you, and put you in the world to bear fruit, fruit that won't spoil. As fruit bearers, whatever you ask the Father in relation to me, he gives you. (MSG version).”

Dear friend, go back to your source, cling to Him, drink from His cup and everyday, He’ll teach you precept by precept, He will give you mad ideas for that project you’ve been sleeping on, you’ll feel alive again! Picture a fish struggling on the dry land suddenly put into water. Ooh how it will dance and jubilate. That’s you, stay in God and you’ll feel so alive. Thrive in the sphere God has ordained you in! Media, Government, Career, Business, Sport, Education, thrive!! Which? Stay in Jesus and you’ll see that it works.
