MY SALVATION STORY; THE FIRST YES I EVER SAID

MY SALVATION STORY; THE FIRST YES I EVER SAID

While I share with you the first yes I ever said, I look forward to sharing with you the second yes, how it happened and all. But I must emphasise that the second yes to my fiance was possible because I first said Yes to Jesus.

Indeed, Deep calleth unto deep.

We all have that birthing moment into Christ and what I am about to do here is share the relatable moments with you and really what you are missing if your relationship with the Trinity is Inconsistent.

Sometimes in 2016, when I started to discover that tingling affectionate feeling towards the opposite sex, Jesus called me directly (I mean, it wasn’t an altar call, He called me Himself) and said He wanted to be my first love, but I wasn’t ready to love someone I couldn’t see, touch, or feel. Coming from a Christian background, I just wanted to continue my daily devotion  and the usual Church services.

As time went on, I lost my peace and a sudden desire for Jesus overwhelmed the entirety of my being.

So I told this voice that kept “bugging” my spirit, if I can see, touch and feel you, we could start something new. However, I was afraid because saying yes to Jesus will mean saying no to some things that made me happy, like my teenage boyfriend and all of the cool music  by Rihanna, Taylor Swift, the gists with my friends about our latest admirers, just enjoying admiration from the opposite sex, and the likes. You know how these things were during those days now!๐Ÿ˜‰

At first, I really doubted His call to Intimacy till I almost ran mad due to the unrest that suppressed my spirit. It got so intense that whenever  the pastor preached, I would start to cry like a baby, i began to stumble on men of God like Lawrence Oyor, Theophilus Sunday, Apostle Joshua Selman  who were releasing fresh sounds from Heavens and precise words God had been ministering to me this season. Each time i go to  bed, i hear  my name audibly, and when  i forcefully tried to have my way by playing my worldly sounds, my Nokia C (something, I don’t recall the name), and then  the pho ne begins to play a song with a lyrics that goes thus “I AM READY NOW, TO DO WHAT YOU WILL”

I was washing plates on  this particular day, and i love to always listen to my usual taylor swift music while I do my chores. I yelled out in tears and broke down, even as the singer kept hammering on the Chorus, “I am ready now to do what you will”

This day, I struck a deal with God. I succumbed to Him. I cried till my eyeballs looked like I had finished a pack of cigarettes. I promised I’d drop everything and serve Him, including the guy I  liked so much.

As time went on, my relationship with God grew stronger, I had received the gift of the Holy Spirit. The moment I blasted in tongues will always live rent free in my head.  I had prayed for this gift but each time I opened my mouth to speak, it was gibberish.

This very day, I was in prayers with teachers of the school where I volunteered while waiting for admission. Before now, the gift came, welling up on my inside but there was no utterance. However, on this day, utterances were supplied. I felt refreshed, I felt divine, I felt connected, the feeling is truly indescribable. Speaking in tongues brought me closer to God, gave me more understanding, brought me to the knowledge of God and gave me more hunger to take over territories for His kingdom.

I struck great deals with God and these deals have changed my life forever. God promised me admission and I promised to serve him throughout my days in school. Those who knew me in school, can testify. At one point,  I went for a vigil when  I had exams for a three unit course by 8 am the next morning, I served God crazily. I held five positions in my 300 level, I almost died. LOL but these experiences built me!

Leaving school, I further told God, daddy, I served you in School, I will not struggle and life after school will not happen  to me. God came through and remembered His promises. While in NYSC camp, my current boss messaged me and gave me a job offer, and guys, I worked to earn  my position because faith without work is dead. When  God brings us opportunities, we should have already been  prepared. And each time I think of my growth, I bless God for my boss, Mrs. Bolanle Olosunde-Jenrola. who never stopped believing in me.

David did not just learn to fling stones strategically when  He killed Goliath, He had been in the training ground, killing predators and slinging stones as a shepherd boy. So yes, I was prepared and God was faithful to keep His commandments.

God’s fire burned greatly within me.

I could no longer enjoy Rihanna or Taylor swift, hip hop became poison to my ears. Sounds were welling up from my inside, I didn’t understand that it was the lord’s answers to my prayers. I had sat in the room one day and I said “Lord you call me your own yet I cannot speak in your dialect”

I was in the midst of teachers one day, in a school I had volunteered to teach, The Paradise of God School, and then Everyone prayed in tongues but I couldn’t.

The utterances have been welling up on my inside but I was still dumb; I couldn’t speak. But this day changed everything! I burst out in the spirit!

Your relationship with God is a battleground. You must war!

The lord’s fire burned within me, I needed the world, my peers to see my Jesus. I broke up with the things that weren’t in accordance to God’s purpose for my life! I pursued God and everything I needed, He provided!

It is a circle. There’s a phase where Jesus tells you that if you miss it, you might get so lost in the world that it might take time to bring you back. How many years do we have on earth not to actually experience Jesus?

My partner is quite a leader in his sphere of influence. He seemed not to have my time and I was hurt. When the program was over, he realised everyone had left and gone to their houses, but only me was left in the car with him.  My point is, Only Jesus is eternal. You’ll leave your car, house, husband, job, friends, and child but what you never leave behind is your salvation. So, fight for it. Don’t eat your seed.

Fight for your relationship with Jesus, if you don’t charge, you can’t be energised, aligned, fueled, to fulfil your purpose.

Join a study group, set an alarm for prayers, decide to pray in tongues at least ten minutes per day, “no gree for the devil!”

I will fight for my relationship with Jesus.

Jesus is real, and He is very interested in starting a relationship with you, as exemplified in my personal story shared earlier. Please don’t turn your back on Him, in Him you will find every solution you need to navigate life.

This NEW YEAR, OUR NUMBER ONE RESOLUTION SHOULD BE TO HAVE A FIRM RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.

Deep is calling unto you, the deep. It’s in the deep you’d find the answers to all of your burdens, questions and more.

Shalom.

Your Friend in Jesus,

Esther Marcus
