WHEN YOU LOVE SOMEONE…

Being in love with someone is a beautiful thing, but do you know what is more beautiful? It is when that person loves you right back! Like, you can obviously feel the energy and vibe from this person too!

I have been in a lovey-dovey situation where all I could think about was this boy. He stepped into my life and stayed at the center, taking me off guard. The depth of my love for him crept into my daily activities. So while carrying out my daily task, thoughts of him danced in and out of my head. Thoughts of, if he had eaten, how he could cope without hearing from me in hours. The feelings graduated into something deeper as we improved communication. It got to the point where I’d see nice things at the store and I'd start to fit it on him, I just wanted to show him off to the world, all in my head! Let me just stop here! Yes, I can be a lover girl and I’m owning it with my full chest.

So enough of me, let’s talk about you. Have you ever been in this situation too? Or are you even currently in this situation? I’d love to say congratulations, love is actually a beautiful thing. 

However, there are cases where the love isn’t reciprocated. A one-sided love means you are the one doing the calling, texting, checking up, posting him/her online, showing him/her off as often as you can. Has your love for someone ever been one-sided?

It can be very painful to the extent where there’s a physical pain in the chest. This can further lead to depression in worse case scenarios. 

If I said this experience could be likened to what we sometimes do to the HolySpirit, would you feel accused? Emphasis on “We”, that is, you and I. 

Honestly, there are multiple times where I feel out of Alignment with the HolySpirit, and know. The more I drifted away, the more I heard Him beckoning unto me for Fellowship, for His presence.

Does this happen to you too? Exactly! Me too! That makes it two of us! 

There are so many reasons why we loose touch with God, but this two I’m about to mention, are very common. Firstly, we’d tell ourselves that; life has been so busy, there’s no time to pray like when you were in school or when you were unmarried or when you were on holiday. The second reason might be as a result of sin. 

When we sin against God, we feel too bad to go back to God in humble surrender.

Therefore, it is necessary to seek first God’s kingdom and then every other thing shall be added but we have unintentionally pursued other things and then made seeking God’s kingdom secondary! 

The devil never wants us to see what God has lined up for us, no, He doesn't want us to evolve in our relationship with God because he knows how dangerous it will be for the kingdom of darkness when you consistently step into your light. 

This is just a simple call for Intimacy and fellowship with the father. He has been calling you, why aren’t you answering? Do you remember how you used to be intimate with Him? If you have read this piece up till here then I believe he has used this piece as another means to call you again. Your secret place is calling.

Let’s talk about the second category. I have been in a lot of situations where I felt like “God probably wouldn’t hear my prayers” “Oh I’ve messed up, I can’t pray”. If only you know how the Father is waiting to welcome you with His arms wide opened, you’d run to Him.

I asked my friend a question one day; “Will you forgive your wife if she cheated on you?” His answer was yes! If a human being could sincerely forgive, then how much more God? He doesn’t think like a man, it’s time to understand that God’s love for you is fixed; so what you do or do not do is not a determining factor of His love for you.

How then can we actually hold onto our love for God in this ever busy and perverted world? 

- Choose the way of God everyday, God has given us the gift of choice. He said I have placed before you “life and death” then He went ahead to say “Choose life”. Everyday should be a decision making day for you; Consistently and intentionality choose the Life of God and walk in His light. 

- Keep your heart grounded in Him. Where your heart is, that’s where your most precious thing is. When I am crazy about someone, thoughts of them are like my heartbeat. Does this happen to you too? You literally think of them round the clock.Therefore, if you have a heart for God, you’d effortlessly stay connected to him. 

- If evil communication corrupts good manners this means kingdom communication kills evil manners. Surround yourself with kingdom citizens.

- Building and keeping a great relationship with God is very possible with the help of His Spirit. It’s as simple as playing worship songs/chants, reading the word of God and just meditating as you drive to work, take your bath, go on lunch break, as you write that email,pick that cloth from your wardrobe ( ask him what outfit, what shoe, what bag), etc,. Build Chemistry! 

Conclusively, His presence brings satisfaction, clarity and a sense of purpose. That idea you have been looking for, might be waiting for you right there in the secret place.

In Him we live, move and have our being. God wants you too, please go back to Him.
